We're Mikkel and Anders, raising our daughter Freja (5) in a relaxed coastal suburb of Aarhus. Mikkel is a vet with early starts, Anders teaches at the local school with more predictable hours, and Freja is at that brilliant age where everything is a question and everything is an adventure. We need an au pair who's warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys the outdoors, because Freja rarely wants to stay inside for long.
Our days follow the Danish rhythm of "hygge" — unhurried mornings, kindergarten drop-off, afternoons at the beach or in the garden, and cosy evenings together. We believe strongly in a calm, low-pressure home life, and we'd love someone who fits naturally into that pace rather than needing constant activity.
Family Unique Experience
Living here means sandy beaches, forest trails, and Denmark's famous cycling culture right outside the door. Aarhus itself is a compact, friendly city with a great café scene and an excellent aquarium Freja never tires of. Copenhagen is under three hours by train for a weekend if you want a bigger city fix.
