Family Dubois
Family Description
We're a food-loving family in the middle of Ghent's old town — Camille practises corporate law, Étienne runs the kitchen at a small bistro (so evenings are his busiest time), and our two children, 5 and 8, already have very strong opinions about pasta shapes. We need an au pair who's organised enough to manage the after-school routine solo a few evenings a week, and who doesn't mind being roped into taste-testing whatever Étienne brings home.
School drop-off is early, and afternoons are yours and the kids' — homework, the canal-side park, or swimming lessons on Wednesdays. We eat well and often, and we'd genuinely love for you to join us at the table most nights. Weekends usually mean a market trip or a bike ride along the canals, and we're happy to help you explore more of Belgium on your days off.
Family Unique Experience
Ghent is a smaller, quieter cousin of Bruges and Brussels — cobbled streets, canal boats, and a lively student population that keeps the city young. You're 30 minutes from Brussels, an hour from the coast, and Bruges and Antwerp are both easy day trips. Étienne's restaurant connections mean you'll eat very well, and Camille is always up for showing off her favourite hidden courtyard cafés.
